AFL and hurling aren't really sports though. They're games. Plenty of games are brutal.

Presume indoor cricket still uses a ball that is a leather covering over a soft ball which is a bit different from the damage that can be caused by a proper cricket ball being propelled at your head by a 90mph fast bowler. The worst physical contact in indoor cricket is probably the Jesse Ryder lookalike coach insisting on giving every young player a hug before she bats.
There shouldn’t be bodily contact in cricket but if you are a short leg fieldsman or a batsman against everything above fast medium (Phil Hughes was hit by a ball from a bowler in Sean Abbott who is not express) you are in danger every time you step onto the field.

Rugby is still a proper contact sport, but football hasnt been like it for years as it's been made sterile with tackling outlawed. Literally wouldn't call it a contact sport at all now.
Cricket is the bollocks, haters are fine with me as it means I'll always be able to get a ticket for whatever game I like.
Yeah I know that things like aussie rules and hurling etc are still brutal, but I have no interest in them.

Let's be honest, how many times a game does that EVER happen?
I love cricket, but let's be honest here, it's not often that a fielder gets a ball straight at their face at 90+ mph, with little or no time to react.
Proper indoor cricket is a bit different. It's like cricket pinball. Seen way worse injuries at indoor than outdoor.

Ha ha. Football only lovers who reckon cricket is dull.
Cricket ball at 90 mph+ coming at your unprotected shins / face.
You've got to react and catch the fucking thing.
Nothing dull and non contact about that.

Cricket?
Ask Phillip Hughes about whether it's a contact sport. While you're at it, ask him if a soft bowling at 75 mph would have killed him.

If women’s football need to attract bigger crowds to get more dolla they should just play with their tits out. Use their assets to their advantage 😀

I am sure that's correct but re equality tennis has already done a pretty good job even though the men play the best of 5 sets at the grand slams and the male stars are always the main attractions.

Perhaps, but probably not - we might all give in and accept that they DESERVE an equal wage, but who will be paying it? Until they pull in the money that the men's game does, they won't get the same pay.

As someone mentioned earlier it's the same sort of PC tactic which is being used with regards female pundits/commentators in men's football. Basically ram it down everyone's throats enough and in the end we will all give up and accept that the women's game is just as good and they deserve equal pay etc.
Trouble is we know better.

It's not even a debate! Football & I''d imagine Rugby are different to Tennis, Athletics, Cricket, Hockey etc... as they are contact team sports where the best thing about them is the aggresion & powert.
When you go to game of football what is it apart from goals that get fans off their seats and creates an atmosphere? It's when someone in your or your team gets stuck in and battles. Simply doesn't happen in the women's and it leaves a void which is why women's football will never be hugely popular like the men's game and why they shouldn't be paid the same as men as they don't generate the money. Sick of this "We are all equal, all the same" bollocks, it's not true!

That’s condescending sexism
The game is different as women lack the strength and explosive power of men. That’s just biology Unless you are going to get a few more Castor Semenya’s out there that isn’t going to change. They play a different sort of game that reflects those physical differences. If you enjoy that then go ahead and watch.
Of course the most brilliant Male players also have an extraordinary appreciation of space and spatial awareness. Far be it from me to suggest that women also lack that generally.

I agree with Fifth to an extent that males might be naturally more competitive and aggressive, but by the same token, think of a game like tennis. The women's game is deadly serious and very competitive, probably because tennis has traditionally been as much a women's sport as a men's sport.
Women's football is still in it's infancy, so maybe the average girl doesn't take it as seriously as they might something like tennis. The last thing a lot of girls want to be seen as is boyish, and football is still seen as mostly a male sport.

womens football, womens rugby, womens cricket, womens golf, womens athletics, womens tennis
All have one thing in common, they are all shit compared to the mens game because men are physically stronger due to genetics and evolution, well theres that and then theres messing up their hair and makeup, nothing to wear and being late for fucking everything to take into account.
Oh and whilst i'm on the subject all female commentators and pundits, shit. That's just because they just are.
